Cashback websites - to help pay for shopping
If you are reading this, you like online shopping. Most times you will find better deals online, because at the very least you can compare way more shops than you would offline. We are here to find you affordable styles and therefore every little bit helps. In order to save online, you need cashback websites.
Cash Back websites
The general concept behind these Cash Back websites is that they’re getting a cut of the profit from the store for referring you to that retail site, and they’re kicking a portion of that back to you. Before shopping at a retail site, go to the Cash Back website, click through to the store you want to shop at and complete your purchase. After a few weeks, you should get some sort of confirmation that your purchase was credited, but that’s pretty much it. It’s sort of like those “donate food to the hungry by clicking this link” websites, except that in this case the rice is a little extra change in your own pocket. Greedy bastard, maybe just for good measure, you should click on one of those websites immediately following your own self-serving Cash Back click…
These are websites I’ve had personal success with.
* Fat Wallet: I’ve been a member of this program since at least 2007. Great customer support and their payments are always timely.
* Big Crumbs: There were a lot of people who thought Big Crumbs was a scam when it first appeared. I’ve been using it since the end of 2006 without any issues, and have found support to be very good. Big Crumbs is definitely the best website I’ve found to get cash back on Ebay, Half.com and iTunes purchases. Sign up as either a CrumbSaver (earn a higher percentage from your own purchases, but don’t get as much credit for referrals) or a CrumbEarner (earn a lower percentage from your own purchases, but get more credit for referrals). You can always switch from a CS to a CE, but not the other way around. No matter how much you’ve earned, payments are automatically sent to you via Paypal monthly, on a 2 month lag.
* Mr. Rebates: You’ll need to accrue $25 before you can cash out. I’ve personally cashed out once and was paid right on schedule. Referral structure is one of the best - earn a flat rate of 20% back from each of your referral’s purchases. And a $5 sign up bonus (you start off having $5 in your acccount)
This is not a cashback site, but Ev’reward is a very useful website for figuring out who is offering the best deal, plus it will give you a list of other rewards you can earn (money toward college savings plans, airline miles, hotel points, etc). I don’t mess around with the points programs (for the most part… I’ll save that for a later edition of conducting business online), and in my experience one of the above 3 Cash Back sites will usually be offering the best percent back offer.
Hottest toys of 2009

In these difficult economic times and with consumers watching their disposable spending, toy manufacturers will be putting a greater emphasis on promoting their introductions with lower retails. A number of the top selling toys last holiday season were at lower price points (i.e. Bakugan and Club Penguin Plush) so all manufacturers will be putting a greater emphasis on delivering lower price products. Some early highlights are Mega Brands Battle Strikers and Season 2 Bakugan product from Spin Master.
Toys Based on Movie/Entertainment Properties
Toys based on leading movies like Iron Man, and Batman were some of the most popular in 2008 and 2009 won’t be any different. Some of the anticipated blockbusters for this year are Star Trek (Playmates for figures and others), GI Joe (Hasbro), Transformers II (Hasbro), Terminator and X-Men/Wolverine (Hasbro). The marketing budget put behind these Summer Movie intros, coupled with the built in awareness of these properties (i.e. parents growing up with Star Trek, Terminator etc.) will drive toy sales, anchored by the success of the action figure category.
Science Toys
Historically this was the “boring” aisle that a child would never walk down. But based on the success of Jakks Pacific’s Eyeclops and Discovery Kids brands, along with the Planet Earth product, science has become hipper and more fun for kids. In addition to great traditional science toys, toys with “Brainwave technology” by Companies like Uncle Milton, with their Star Wars FORCE TRAINER and Mattel with their Mindflex should be popular in 2009.
Green Toys
Focusing on Global awareness along with maintaining the earth and environment is a crucial issue with families and even more so children as they learn about this in school. Coupled with the safety issues in toys (which is an issue that has been well addressed by the industry) manufacturers are developing more and more toys that utilize organic and recycled raw materials in the products. Skewed a bit more to the specialty market, Companies like Mary Meyer and Sprig toys will be just a few that will lead the growth in this category.
Access to the Internet and Digital Websites
Computers and web searching competencies are now a driving influence in children’s play patterns. Toys Manufacturers will continue to incorporate the virtual world into their toy introductions with links to website and offering added content that instead of being packaged into the product, is available via dedicated website.
